During Mid-Autumn holidays, colleagues in Nanjing has organized a trip to the Three Gorges Dam — the world’s largest water conservancy project in Hubei province.

Everyone was stunned when entered the Three Gorges Dam! As if walking into an antique dream, the continuous painting scenery just like a spectacular fabulous story. Water rushed in the river between mountains. Clouds are rolling and extending timely,as if we are in a fairy tale.

There are many literati have traveled here to write poetry to describe the astonishing scenery of the Three Gorges Dam in Yangtze River since ancient times. For example :From the walls of Baidi high in the coloured dawn to Jiangling by night-fall is three hundred miles was wrote by a poet from Tang Dynasty.

The Three Gorges Project has ten comprehensive benefits such as flood control, power generation, shipping, breeding, tourism, protecting the ecology, purifying the environment, development resettlement, south-to-north water transfer, and water supply and irrigation. Flood control is the main function of the Three Gorges Project, which can improve the flood control standards in the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River from once in a decade to once in a hundred years, basically eliminating the impact of floods. After the completion of the Three Gorges Hydro-power Station, it will be the largest hydro-power station among the eight largest hydro-power stations in the world, with an average annual power generation of 84.7 billion kWh.
